microBIOMAtica is a journey of body and enviromental storytelling, a riSomatic and territorial exercise of active memory of inner and surrounding microbiomes. Is connecting our microbe individuality to the bio-geographical ecosystem and collective memory.

Studying the body microbiome has enlightened key features of the health/sickness spectrum: for example, the gut microbiome is connected to intuition, the inmune system, and even mental health. The harsh biopolitical situation can stress our bodies, our territories and bodies are inflamed – the Global South is inflamed by the constant extractivist usurpation and genocidal colonialism. This directly affect our microbiomes.

How does the depleted and inflamed microbiota recover? Are there bacterial scars of the colonial trauma? Can we dialogue with our ancestral microbes? Can we give them a voice? What are the specificities of the microbiota in the global south?

«My work, always collective and corporal, handles parameters such as territorial, social and emotional uprooting. What I do and shake survives because it de-localises, transits, migrates: change, detachment, and the elasticity of nomadic bodies are part of its strength. I seek to be able to twist myself, to cut circuits of subjective narratives, inventing dictionaries and dreaming of musical spelling to rename things».

kinkinella has spent 3 years exploring abdominal pain, chronic inflammation and microbial destruction of her intestinal organ, amid denial and medical blindness, pushing her toward the experience of self-management, microbiotic bioremediation, as well as the wish to rename things and cut self-inflicted circuits of narratives.
