Open Forum on Arts, Science & Technology at Sónar+D

The second edition of the Open Forum on Arts, Science & Technology at Sónar+D, an activity promoted by the ASTS Network (Red ACTS) and organized by Barcelona’s Hub of Art, Science and Technology, HacTe, explores the relationships between arts, science, and technology in a transdisciplinary exchange of emerging technologies, frontier research, and artistic research.
Moderated by curator, researcher, and cultural manager specialized in the intersections between arts and technoscientific culture, Maria Ptqk, and the director of Hangar, Anna Manubens, the event will bring together artists and scientists from various fields of knowledge to share research questions and emerging projects in a dynamic format that wants to inspire and seduce each other, and to foster new collaborations.
During the session, we will learn about the three new pilot projects that the Red ACTS will launch this year, as well as the recent publication of the GRAPA 2023 Notebooks and the .able journal.
Additionally, three practical cases of ongoing collaboration in the ASTS field in Catalonia will be presented. These include artist residencies in research centers under the European project S+T+ARTS in the City, focused on urban challenges such as climate change, sustainable energy, or social polarization.
The session will conclude with a networking aperitif for all attendees.
