Burkhard Horn

Freelance consultant on urban mobility and transport planning, City Administrations

Burkhard Horn, born 1961, is an urban planner who has been working for more than 25 years in different city administrations as a transport planner with a distinct focus on transformation processes towards making cities more sustainable and liveable regarding mobility and transportation. Before starting to work as a freelance consultant on urban development and urban transport policies in October 2017 he was head of transport of the Berlin city administration and head of a committee of the leading transport planners of the big German cities.

In his current work as a consultant he is helping to develop sustainable urban transport strategies, moderating stakeholder dialogues and conferences, working as speaker and also supporting policy think tanks. He is a member of several advisory boards of the German Federal Ministry of Transport, cities like Zurich or Hamburg and NGOs. More information:
