S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence
S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence aims to create spaces for reflection and experimentation at the intersection of the arts, science and technology through a cooperative approach between 11 cultural organizations across Africa and Europe.
Afropean Intelligence supports African artists (as well as artists based on the continent) in their research and creative process, providing them with innovative digital tools and cross-disciplinary expertise. Through the S+T+ARTS Prize Africa and a program of ten residencies deployed in six countries (Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo), the project promotes and facilitates artistic creation by reducing digital disparities and nurturing a reflexive intercultural dialogue.
By bringing together CCI experts, artists, technologists and scientific figures, Afropean Intelligence proposes to take a critical look at technologies, with an emphasis on generative #AI – to explore its impact and potential by collectively addressing the identified challenges. Through these crossed voices and perspectives, in a context where artificial intelligence occupies an exponential place and will inevitably shape tomorrow’s societies, S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence aspires to actualize Afro-European narratives and foster the emergence of a post-colonial vision that favors both continents, while taking care to preserve cultural heritage and local identities.
