STARTS PRO DAY AT FESTIVAL SCOPITONE

The Scopitone Festival is an annual festival which takes place in several places in the city of Nantes in September. Created in 2002 and organised by the Association Songo, Scopitone materialises the encounter between music, image, live performance and digital arts. Aspiring to expand the presence of art in public spaces, Scopitone has become a meeting point of reference between the artists and the creative industries.
This professional STARTS day is aimed at artists, researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs and more broadly at the research and innovation players, and cultural actors, public or private. The morning will be dedicated to the presentation of the STARTS program, a feedback from STARTS Residencies laureates, and a roundtable about the crossovers between art, science and technology. The afternoon will help people interested in this program to discover and understand the STARTS funding mechanisms. We will close the day with a networking session.

Grégory Lasserre , artist at Scenocosme and Julien Bourgeois, head of department of Computer Sicence, Université de Bourgogne Franche-Comté, FEMTO-ST,will present their collaboration around «Programmable Matter », a project composed of micro-robots, sub-millimeter moving computers that have the ability to move around each other, communicate, change color, and latch to other micro-robots to form different shapes.
