Matteo Zamagni

Matteo Zamagni, an Italian, London-based artist, works across visual arts, multimedia installations, live performance, film, and electronic music. Using research-led contemporary technologies, his practice probes the entanglements of technology, ecology, and systemic crisis, tracing how environmental, economic, and social turbulence shape one another. Central to his work is the human subject situated within the dense interrelations of nature, technology, and politics. By re-embedding ourselves and our tools within the living world rather than apart from it, Zamagni creates works that map a continuum from local-to-global phenomena and play with human-machine perception, following the evolution of a post-anthropocentric consciousness emerging from an entangled technosphere and biosphere. His practice develops a multi-scalar reading of disaster capitalism and its enduring impacts on planetary ecosystems.
