WeSTART – STARTS Online Meetup
Online
It wasn’t so long ago – the beginning of March – that we were in Paris seeing the amazing project results from the STARTS Residencies projects and the STARTS Symposium sharing all the amazing strategies and experiences of organisations and curators in bringing artists and scientists/technologists together all over the world. Fast forward a month and most of Europe, still much of Asia and America and soon much of the world will be in lockdown due to the COVID-19 virus sweeping the planet.
We, at STARTS, thought it might be good in this time to further try to bring artists and scientists/technologists together while we are all home trying to stay safe yet productive and use this engage and collaborate rather than bury down into games and movies or depression and disconnection.
We will have STARTS online community events in coming weeks and months to find out what our STARTS Community members are working on and what interests and thoughts are being raised on art-science-tech collaboration, while sharing approaches and experiences on making and creating.
We will host our initial WeSTART online meetup next Thursday, April 9th 6pm-7pm CET, and we are inviting everyone to take part in this discussion. The session will count with the moderation of Camille Baker (STARTS/ UCA).
We ask everyone to come prepared to share a few things:
- who you are
- where you are
- what your art or science/tech practice is
- what you are presently working on (or planning/ hoping to start working on)
- how you are modifying your practice (if at all) to the new lockdown conditions
We hope to generate discussion on what you might want to discuss. Our next online meetups will be planned accordingly the revealed interests and needs.
The event is free, but to attend it, please register by 9th April, 12:00 CET. – UPDATE: REGISTRATIONS ALREADY CLOSED. Due to the huge interest revealed, we have already reached the maximum number of people allowed for the WeSTART session. We want to thank the enthusiastic adhesion to this meetup! Another meetings will be organised. Please ensure that you will receive information about them, by becoming part of our online community – register HERE and check the boxes to receive our newsletters.
On 9th April, 14:00 CET, we will share with all registered persons the link to attend the meeting. If you have problems in receiving the link, please contact us.
We hope to see you there! We can still collaborate online!
