S+T+ARTS AIR Festival is near!

October 25, 2024

The AIR S+T+ARTS Festival, which will take place on 26-27 October in Badalona, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., is the closing event of the AIR S+T+ARTS artist residency project, co-funded by the European Commission. This project has brought together 10 international artists who have worked in collaboration with scientists and technologists over the last 10 months, exploring the concept of air and the most pressing social and environmental challenges of our time.

The artists have approached these challenges from visionary and deeply unique approaches, which will be presented at the festival through interventions, installations and performances. Rather than offering finished works, the festival showcases the creative process, the path followed and the potential futures, inviting the audience to witness a constantly evolving research, opening up new possibilities for artistic and scientific exploration, at the intersection between stakeholders and disciplines.

The event will take place at the Port of Badalona, in the facilities of the Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus (Expanded space), and combines multiple artistic languages, scientific knowledge and technological experimentation. Attendees will be able to live an immersive and direct experience of the results of these residencies, in which art and science have merged to offer new perspectives on the future.

At the Festival, the resident artists will showcase the projects they’ve developed over the past 10 months in close collaboration with scientists and technologists, presenting installations, performances, and interventions that explore the intersection of art, science, and our most urgent environmental challenges.

This event is also an opportunity to highlight the transformative role of collaboration between art, science and technology, a key focus of the S+T+ARTS (Science, Technology & the Arts) initiative, which aims to foster innovative solutions to the challenges facing Europe.

Entry is free, but places are limited, so hurry up and reserve your spot! Please keep in mind to be on time, the Festival starts at 7 p.m. and it won’t be possible to join later.

“The AIR Festival aims to create a unique experience for the visitor where to understand and envision the potential of combining Art, Science and Technology for unlocking disruptive innovation connected with and for Society.”
