OpenFields
OpenFields is an interdisciplinary studio connecting architecture, technology, contemporary culture, and the environment. Co-led by Mark Balzar and Zeynep Aksöz Balzar, the practice integrates research, teaching, and design at TU Wien, IAAC Barcelona, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Mark, an Austrian licensed architect, brings extensive international experience, focusing on energy, technology, and urbanism. Zeynep, a Turkish architect and creative coder, explores algorithmic systems, AI embodiment, and ecological interaction. Together they develop innovative, collaborative approaches bridging human, nonhuman, and artificial agents, and their work has been widely exhibited and published internationally.
