A Recoletora
A Recoletora is an artistic and educational practice by visual artist Alexandre Delmar and graphic designer Maria Ruivo, studying places of reciprocity and interaction between human and plant communities.
Their work combines research, inventory, and mapping of edible and medicinal wild plants with the recovery of ancestral and contemporary knowledge, following a didactic approach that invites a rediscovery of the city through foraging and wandering urban
commons.
The practice spans themes such as food autonomy, foraging, herbalism, craftsmanship, landscape, memory, ethnobotany, and ecological literacy, brought to life through collaborative activities such as guided walks, workshops, meals, edible installations, exhibitions, and publications.
